e Island, a tourist destination in southern Kanto, is a land-tied island that juts out into the bay from the Shonan coast. Step by step, as you land and progress step by step, the view of the strata of the earth that you can see gives a strong impression that the island is striped earth. The sense of the body overlaps with the striped strata of earth that have accumulated over the years and the risers of the stairs. A teahouse that once stood on a site near the top of the island will be reborn as a teahouse room in a vaulted space created with striped "rammed earth" and "wooden log stacking." The "earth" will be procured from the site, and the "wood" will be stacked in a staggered pattern of cedar lumber with a cross section and length that can be carried by hand. Behind the rammed earth wall, we plan to create lodging rooms where you can sleep in the earth. From the observation terrace on the ground, you can see a series of waves created by the reflection of the setting sun.
